📰 National News: Monday Declared Public Holiday in Ghana
Ghana will tomorrow, Monday, September 22, 2025, observe Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day as a statutory public holiday.
The Ministry of the Interior confirmed that since September 21 — the official date — fell on a Sunday, the holiday will instead be marked on Monday in line with Ghana’s Public Holidays Act.
Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day is dedicated to honoring Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President and a visionary leader who spearheaded independence and championed Pan-African unity.
Across the country, commemorative events will be held at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra, alongside media reflections, public lectures, and tributes to his historic contributions.
👉 Note: All workers, students, and institutions are required to observe the day as a public holiday.
